【作者简介】 普里莫·莱维（Primo Levi，1919-1987） 意大利犹太人，作家，化学家，奥斯维辛174517号囚犯。1919年，莱维出生于意大利都灵；1943年，他因参与反法西斯运动被捕，后被遣送至集中营。战争结束后，他回到故乡都灵生活。在此后的人生中，他从事工业化学这一行当30年，同时作为一位作家，写作了“奥斯维辛三部曲”（《这是不是个人》《休战》《被淹没与被拯救的》），以及其他建基于其化学家身份和大屠杀幸存者经历的小说、散文和诗歌作品。1987年4月11日，莱维从他出生的房子坠落身亡。 作为奥斯维辛最重要的记录者和见证人，莱维的文字具有一种与其他受难者不同的特质，他秉持一种化学家的冷静与节制书写记忆，同时，又如菲利普·罗斯所说，“本该充满悼念情绪和无尽的绝望，反而充满活力”。他的文字，让人们更理性地思考人性。
